Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare Is Still the Best Shooter Game

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare changed the gaming world when it was first released in 2007, but its popularity has not waned in the 10 years since then. Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare remains one of the best shooter games available, with new modes and maps that keep players coming back to play over and over again. Here’s why the game still reigns supreme among shooter games.

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare Review

In 2007, Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare was released. The fourth main installment in the Call of Duty series, it received widespread critical acclaim and is often considered one of the greatest video games ever made. Since its release, it has sold millions and millions of copies, making it a best-seller among all video games ever released.

Also, consider that Call of Duty 2 was released in 2005 and Call Of Duty 3 was released in 2008; both were incredibly popular as well so there’s no reason to believe that Call Of Duty 4 won’t sell just as many copies because all three are similar. You could say that it could potentially outsell those two combined because it is newer and better overall.

10 reasons why Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare will never be topped

Of course, many gamers prefer a different game in the series for various reasons. But, I maintain that Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare will never be topped because it managed to do something no other title has done: It breathed new life into a franchise that was already considered past by many. That’s not an easy thing to do and it makes Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare one of my favorite video games to date.

Do you agree? If so, leave a comment below and let me know why! Call of Duty is a first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. The fourth installment in the Call of Duty series was released worldwide on November 5, 2007, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Mac OS X, and Wii. A Nintendo DS port was developed by n-Space but canceled before release due to quality concerns.

The accuracy and fluidity of movement

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare revolutionized and revitalized first-person shooter (FPS) games, and it’s still a great choice for fans today. Call of Duty 2 was released in 2005 and Call of Duty 3 in 2007; both are now outdated compared to newer games. But if you ask any fan about their favorite game in the series, they’ll likely answer that it’s Call of Duty 4.

That’s because, unlike its predecessors, Call of Duty 4 has an improved setup where everything is more dynamic and faster-paced. The characters move at a quicker speed than in older versions, shooting has been made more fluid so no reloading or waiting around happens while you play.

The high-quality graphics

Modern Warfare revolutionized graphics in first-person shooter games and brought gaming to a whole new level. No longer would gamers have to settle for generic-looking cities and military landscapes; now, modern cities could be built from scratch, thousands of 3D models could be added for more realistic characters, and most importantly, fast-paced online play was made possible by game servers that didn’t suffer from low latency issues that plagued earlier games. If you played Call of Duty 2 or Call of Duty 3 before playing Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, you’ll know what I mean. If not…well…you don’t know what you’re missing out on!

The amazing storyline

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare has an incredibly immersive storyline, it also has fantastic characters. The characters and their voice actors create a reality for players, making them feel as if they are actually in these foreign settings. With names like Sgt. John Soap MacTavish and Captain John Price, it’s easy to get lost in their universe. The scenarios these characters find themselves in the range from capture to suicide bombers—all fitting into a war story that never gets boring.

It could be said that Call of Duty is not a video game but an interactive movie… with guns. While other games might have a linear plotline, Call of Duty allows you to choose how you want your missions completed. You can go through levels stealthily or with guns blazing, you can play alone or with friends, and you can change your appearance at any time during gameplay. Each level ends in a boss fight where victory isn’t assured; even on normal difficulty, there are times when one hit kills you.

The epic cut scenes

One thing that always sets Call of Duty apart from its peers is its Hollywood-esque intro sequences, which set up whatever modern conflict you’ll be playing through. Even if you’ve played through these games a few times, it’s hard not to get swept up in the drama and tension created by these scenes. The same thing can be said for starting on level one; it’s obvious where you’ll go and what your final goal will be, but it never stops being exciting to get there.

And even once you know all there is to know about each new installment—or map pack, as they’re called here—you never stop finding ways to get better at them and achieve higher levels than ever before. These are just some of the reasons why so many people continue to play Call of Duty 4, even years after its initial release. If you haven’t given it a try yet, maybe now’s your chance!

Features of Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is regarded as one of, if not THE best first-person shooter game made. Why? The reason has more to do with its storyline and immersion in both single-player and multiplayer modes than gameplay. However, there are features in Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare that have had a lasting effect on gaming as a whole.

For example, taking cover behind walls and using different ways to break cover is something that’s been integrated into many games since its release. It may not be an original idea, but it certainly works well in keeping players immersed while they play. It also keeps them from being shot while they’re behind cover or when breaking away from cover to shoot their opponent; you can only take so much damage before you die after all!

The balance between long-range and close combat sections

This is something that Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare does better than any other shooter game out there. Many games like to separate long-range and close combat areas, but in Call of Duty, your soldier can seamlessly switch between using a sniper rifle and using a shotgun without ever breaking stride. This keeps you on your toes as you never know what to expect next.

Then combine that with advanced AI (making for some great firefights) and there’s nothing else quite like it out there. The result is a completely satisfying experience for veteran gamers – albeit one that will make newcomers seem like untrained newbies. There are moments where you’ll kill upwards of 20 or 30 enemies just because they didn’t keep their heads down!

Single-player campaign length

The single-player campaign is long compared to other games. It can take between 8-12 hours to complete, depending on how well you learn certain missions and how well you can play under pressure from other players online. There are several missions where quick time events (QTEs) come into play that give a short break from non-stop action.

Some players will enjoy these events, but others may wish for more variety in gameplay. The game also has its share of stealth sections, which are handled very poorly because there is no indication as to when you have been spotted by an enemy or not. This makes it easy to be seen by enemies even if you’re trying your best to remain hidden. Overall, though, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare remains one of the best first-person shooter games ever made.

Graphics remain realistic as years pass by

The graphics in Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare remain as realistic as ever. When Call of Duty 2 was released in 2005, many gamers were stunned by its picture-perfect graphics, but thanks to continual improvements made by game makers, COD4 is even more realistic than COD2. This game has phenomenal graphics that make you feel like you are actually on a battlefield. Other games can try to compete with it all they want, but they will never beat out what COD4 has given us over years past.

It truly shows that each year brings something new and better to games and game makers alike. A continuation of an epic storyline: Unlike other first-person shooter games, Call of Duty 4 tells an epic storyline that continues from one installment to another. There is no beginning or end to how far back these stories go—they just keep going. Each player feels as if he or she is involved in some sort of warfare against other countries for reasons unknown at times; however, we always seem to be there when someone needs help.
